The hospital-gown boy looked up at the ceiling, explaining unhurriedly, “The images I enabled you to see, are all memories of you interacting with those now absent on a timeline from the past, it’s just that you have already forgotten…”

He paused, then continued, “The last is the fourth jump, and it’s also your final time jump…”

“Enough…”

Ke Mingye interrupted him, his tone calm, “I don’t remember any of this at all; no matter the nonsense you spout, it’s useless, and now I understand why you and that monster would stand in the hallway together, it looks like you’re cut from the same cloth.”

“I know it’s hard for you to accept, but this is the truth… The shadow of the Envious Witch is watching me, so for now, I can’t hide any facts from you, whether or not you want to believe them is entirely up to you,” said the hospital-gown boy calmly, glancing back at the female shadow attached to him.

“Why is this the last time?” Ke Mingye paused, then continued, “You mean I can’t time jump using the ‘Spark’ you mentioned if I fail again?”

“This is the last time because before you performed your fourth time jump, the personal will of the ‘Spark’ awoke from its slumber. It no longer let you have your way, instead, it requested a deal with you,” the boy said calmly, “I told you before, your spirit was on the verge of collapse, and because of this, you asked the Spark to erase your memory, but beyond that… Ke Mingye, you made another request.”

“Another request?” Ke Mingye articulated each word.

“Yes,” the boy nodded, “That request was, to bring back those who were deleted by the world, abandoned by the world in the previous timeline changes, to your side.”

He paused: “Sadly, if it really went like that, it would involve countless things, so in the end, the Spark could only fulfill your demand in the current manner–letting them stay as ‘personalities’ in your mind.”

“…What’s the point of that?”

Ke Mingye tried to follow his drivel and, going along with his thinking, asked.

The boy’s expression was blank as he looked down at the book in his hands, and said softly, “That you’ll have to ask yourself because that was once your choice, even though you have forgotten the process of choosing.”

Ke Mingye said nothing.
