Chapter 149 – 114: Major Event One: Battle of the Dragon Ninja (Nine)_3
If the rules are wrong, then I…

will break the rules.

The next moment, Ke Xiaomo slowly lifted his eyelids, his expression like that of the most devout martyr in the world, with the midday sun reflected in his slightly open pupils.

It was as if he saw the sunset at the valley floor that day.

Suddenly, a sharp shadow streaked past the corner of his eye.

The moment his body was about to hit the ground, a waterfall-like cascade of shadows burst from his back, shooting into the sky like a black column of light, swallowing all the light.

It was as if day and night had suddenly changed places.

Above the myriad shards of glass falling with him, the reflection of a pitch-black raptor appeared.

The next instant, a pair of enormous wings that could cover the sky grew from his back, with every flap stirring up a turbid wind carrying woven shadows.

The eagle’s cry resonated across the entire sky.

In that moment, Ke Xiaomo seemed to have transformed into a raptor forged of shadows. He lifted his gaze, looking up at the top of the high-rise where a massive shadow lion loomed.

Then he slowly raised his right hand, gathering in his palm a shadow blade, its blade tip extending from the raptor’s beak.

Next, Ke Xiaomo violently shook his wings, his form shooting upwards like an excavating blade, with the raptor’s screech drowning out all other noise in the sky.

At this very moment, atop the high-rise’s glass curtain wall, the Sect Master’s shadow lion crouched on the ground, like a fierce beast choosing its prey.

“He did it, merged with the Shadow Heart, turned illusion into reality…” the Sect Master murmured, “What irony, a once-in-a-thousand-years genius of the Ninja Sect, yet a traitor, no?”

His gaze was piercing, with the reflection of a pitch-black owl spiraling up from the bottom of the high-rise in his pupils, and his lips suddenly curled upwards.

“You’ve grown, Mo.”

As he spoke, the Sect Master picked up the gleaming tachi and sprinted down the glass curtain wall toward the bottom, with the male lion racing alongside him on the curtain wall.

As if racing through the journey of a lifetime.

From the shattered glass, the descending shadow lion and the raptor climbing up from the valley bottom collided, unleashing a deafening roar.

The entire world at that moment seemed to be engulfed by an overwhelming sea of shadows, reduced to a monochrome of black and white.

Ke Xiaomo and the Sect Master simultaneously swung their tachis forward, their blade lights, clear as lake water, intersecting at that moment, emitting a cry like that of a soaring bird.

The shadow lion and the raptor merged for an instant, then parted, one rising, one falling.

The Sect Master’s general’s armor cracked, spreading a thousand fissures; soon after, the dark red helmet flew off along an eaves corner of the skyscraper and disappeared into the city.

With a new, deep gash that reached his bones near the pierced part of his abdomen, Ke Xiaomo half-knelt on the glass curtain wall, turning his head to look down.

The male lion was plummeting to the earth, disintegrating slowly. The Sect Master’s pale locks of hair swayed in the wind, and he gently closed his eyes, his lips moving.

“Go do what you want to do.” He said silently.

Ke Xiaomo watched the old man fall to the ground, turning into a pool of soulless flesh and blood.

He then slowly lost consciousness, the shadow eagle clinging to his body dispersed, and the shadow attached to the skyscraper’s surface where his feet rested vanished with it.

He lost his balance and, wrapped in gravity, fell toward the ground, closing his tired eyes.

In that moment, suddenly a shadow flashed through midair, catching his body and carrying him to the ground.

Ke Yinzhi looked down at Ke Xiaomo’s face with drooping eyes and applied a dark substance to stop his bleeding, “Well done, you beat that old man, eh.”

Ke Xiaomo trembled as he reached out his hand, grabbing his arm, and said in a low voice, “The Dragon of Calamity… it’s Yong, Yongzhu.”

“I can see that.”

Ke Yinzhi turned his head, glancing at the Dragon of Calamity emerging from the bell tower, a dragon now completely bereft of reason, engulfed in the fury of destroying everything.

“Brother, save him… save our, brother.”

Ke Xiaomo said with his eyes half-open and his voice hoarse.

“I will… Sleep well, hospital pillows are quite comfortable,”

Ke Yinzhi whispered, picking up Ke Xiaomo and temporarily placing him inside Gibran Library, then stepped onto the street and walked towards the collapsed Ink Writer.

At that moment, the Ink Writer lay prostrate in a pool of murky blood ink.

Just ten seconds earlier, he had witnessed with his own eyes how the Black Judge had used only two moves to crush the dragon summoned by his Blood Ink Forbidden Skill into nothingness.

At the same time, all his lifelong confidence was shattered along with it.

Subsequently, the Ink Writer had pinned his hopes on the Sect Master of the Ninja Sect, only to see the Sect Master clash with Ke Xiaomo on the face of a high-rise building. Both of them had used “Shadow Heart”, turning it from illusion to reality, merging into one.

He had thought that the Sect Master would win the contest and come to his rescue.

But in the end, it was the Sect Master who was defeated.

At that moment, the Ink Writer felt as if his world had been turned upside down, first by that Black Judge, then by that Ke Xiaomo.

“This whole family… what kind of monsters are they…”

He lamented silently to himself.

Ke Yinzhi came to a halt beside him, smiling as he asked, “How does it feel, seeing your Sect Master taken down by my brother?” He spread his hands, “I told you… no one from the Ninja Sect could stop him.”

“I admit it, your brother is a monster too,”

the Ink Writer said hoarsely, his hands covering the bloodied hole in his chest.

“Let’s take that as a compliment then,” Ke Yinzhi curved his lips upward, “How about this, I’ll spare your life so you can stay by Xiao Mo’s side and assist him.”

“I don’t understand… what do you mean by that?” the Ink Writer asked, his voice faltering.

“Isn’t there a rule within your Ninja Sect, that if someone among the ninjas defeats the current Sect Master, then they will be promoted to the next Sect Master right away?”

Ke Yinzhi tilted his head, his tone curious as he spoke.

After a moment of silence, the Ink Writer said, “I see, I understand. From now on, I will stay by Ke Xiaomo’s side and help him manage the Ninja Sect. Thank you for sparing my life.”

“Don’t mention it, it’s a fair trade.”

Ke Yinzhi smiled and looked up, his gaze turning toward the rampaging catastrophic dragon, “It’s time to take care of our little brat at home. Can’t have him causing chaos in the streets.”

“Oh right, almost forgot this… My memory is getting worse,”

he muttered to himself, tilting his head and pressing on the pitch-black earring.

At that moment, a red and black holographic projection enveloped Ke Yinzhi’s body, making him appear as if he were dressed as the Black Judge.

Ke Yinzhi raised his right hand, touched the non-existent blood-red V-shaped mask, and the corner of his mouth curled up slightly, “This new toy from the Management Bureau is really convenient, no need to change outfits now.”

Then, he lifted his eyes and saw a figure flying out from a breach on the fifth level of Wanxiang City’s cinema. The figure wore a monkey mask and was cloaked in a silver and black metallic coat.

“Brother and sister teaming up, what a rarity.”

The Black Judge glanced at Black Wukong, who stood on Somersault Cloud, overlooking all beings, and also lowered his eyes to the hundred ninjas who were attempting to use the Dragon Ancestor’s Horn to restrain the Catastrophic Dragon.

“First… let’s take care of these noisy ninjas,” Read new chapters at empire

he said casually as he walked forward and pulled on his glove.

In an instant, nearly a hundred ninjas on Luo Dehua Commercial Street were cut at the waist, their flesh and blood spilling onto the ground to become a sticky mess before a black glow swallowed it all, leaving nothing behind.

At this moment, the entire street was deathly silent.

Only the furious breathing of the Catastrophic Dragon, the noisy humming from Black Wukong’s Somersault Cloud, and the magnetic metallic voice coming from behind the Black Judge’s mask remained.

“Now, it’s your turn,”

the Black Judge said, turning his head, his gaze from behind the mask fixed on the utterly berserk dragon.

In his pupils, the reflection of a ferocious, bloodthirsty visage could be seen.
