Chapter 912: Chapter 906: Fang Xiu Faints_1

Fang Xiu looked indifferently at the man who was helping her pack her clothes, not reacting at all, just hugging her son tightly in her arms. She had been awake for two days now, and the doctor had approved her discharge from the hospital today, but she still could not speak.

“Xiuxiu, let’s go home. Let me hold Taotao.” Jing Xin looked at his wife, who neither smiled nor made a fuss, and his heart was bitter. She still refused to listen to his explanation.

Fang Xiu didn’t argue with him either. If he wanted to hold their son, she let him. She took a bag herself and left the room first. Jing Xin glanced at his mother and father. Although Taotao was young, all children were sensitive, particularly this child who had been especially obedient since birth. He was just nestled quietly in his father’s arms, not crying or making a fuss, which was heartbreaking to see.

Back at home, apart from ignoring Jing Xin and not speaking, Fang Xiu did everything else as usual–eating, sleeping, opening the door to do business.

Jing Xin looked back at his wife instructing the shop assistants then left vacantly for the army. Fang Xiu watched his desolate retreating figure, then turned back around to continue teaching the assistants, thinking if she had known this day would come, she would not have started any of it.

She communicated through writing, as she could not speak. It was somewhat laborious, but no matter how hard it was, she had to do it. She needed to train someone reliable to help her run the shop so she could leave.

This shop assistant used to be her playmate when they were young. The woman was honest, hardworking, and willing to endure hardship, so she was the first person Fang Xiu thought of when she needed someone to replace her.

She spent five days training her to learn everything about running the shop. It was only when Yu Xiu agreed to help manage her that she finally smiled. Early on the sixth day, Fangfang came over to find the room locked. She opened the door with the key Fang Xiu had given her, surprised to find that Fang Xiu was not home. As she was about to leave, she noticed two letters on the table, one addressed to her and the other to Jing Xin.

The letter for her was straightforward, urging her to do her best and promising surprise rewards she could not imagine. It assured her that Yu Xiu would pay her salary based on her working days and performance, so she need not worry about Fang Xiu’s previous promises not being fulfilled in her absence. The letter concluded by asking her to give the other one to Jing Xin and didn’t say anything more. From then on, not a single person in S Province knew where Fang Xiu and Taotao had gone.

By the time Jing Xin returned from his mission, two days had passed. He could hardly believe his eyes as he looked at the divorce agreement in his hand. He couldn’t believe Fang Xiu had left with the child. She was a woman strong on the inside but weak in appearance. How could he have believed her silent anger was just temporary and that she would cool down and hear his explanation eventually?

Jing Xin walked into the house holding the divorce agreement. There were no children calling him “daddy” anymore, nor was there his wife’s gentle smile. The house seemed drained of life without the warmth of home-cooked meals or a hint of human presence. He thought about looking for her, but she had been gone for two days, and he had no idea where to begin searching in the vast sea of people.

He had asked every good acquaintance of hers that he knew in S Province, but none of them knew where she had gone, not even Yu Xiu.

“Big brother.” Jing Yuan softly called to Jing Xin, who was sitting on the edge of the bed.

“What are you doing here? Haven’t you done enough harm to me already? Now that you see me in this state, are you satisfied?” Jing Xin’s voice was so cold it was frightening.

“Big brother, I didn’t know it would end like this. Really, I just liked you and wanted to be with you, that’s all.” Jing Yuan hadn’t expected Fang Xiu to end up in the hospital. She had been there several times but had never seen Jing Xin. She hadn’t thought that she would finally see him this time, but she couldn’t accept Jing Xin’s harsh attitude.
