Chapter 774: Chapter 768 Zhao Xuezhi

Zhao Xuezhi was certain that Chu Molin had returned; otherwise, these two kids wouldn’t be here. She looked into the house and, aside from the in-laws, she didn’t see signs of anyone else.

“Where’s Molin? Wasn’t it said he has returned? Why isn’t he here? And who is his wife? How is she?” Zhao Xuezhi bombarded with several questions at once.

“He’s not here, he’s probably at the Li’s right now. I’ve never spoken to his wife, so I don’t know what kind of person she is. But you know, the people mom likes are usually not bad. I only learned today that Xiaoqiao actually has a good relationship with her. These two kids were brought back by her and mom. We’ll need to bring them back later.” Chu Yeting explained everything to his wife in advance, lest she needlessly worry in her confusion.

“You have to leave again? Can’t you stay? Hasn’t enough time passed for you to forgive me?” Zhao Xuezhi asked her husband sorrowfully. How long would he continue to blame her for that incident? It wasn’t her idea after all.

“Xuezhi, time will tell. Or perhaps I should just tell him everything?” Chu Yeting suggested, patting her shoulder to comfort her.

“No, that would just make him more upset. Let it be. Just like you said, time will tell. He’ll understand one day, once he knows the truth.” Zhao Xuezhi wiped her tears and replied.

“Mmm, he will.” Chu Yeting nodded in agreement, believing the day wouldn’t be far off.

“Alright, you two should stop standing here. Go and eat.” Miao Qingqing, upon seeing her daughter-in-law’s tears, had some grudges against her but understood the difficulties she faced. It wasn’t Zhao Xuezhi’s fault the incident occurred, so blaming her was pointless, only her great-grandson had to suffer unintentionally.

“Mom, did you cook?” Zhao Xuezhi asked her mother-in-law, who seldom cooked.

“Yes, clean your hands and come eat. If not, little Qin Xue will have to come to get the kids.” Miao Qingqing knew that the Lis were having their meal now. Qin Xue hadn’t come yet to retrieve her kids perhaps because she wanted them to spend more time with their grandparents. Miao Qingqing appreciated this gesture.

“Alright, sweetheart, let’s go eat with grandma.” Zhao Xuezhi carried Yu Ze to the dining table.

In contrast, in H Province, Nangong Shulan and Qin Lei were still busy; so much so that they had no time for lunch. Initially, they had not expected their business to flourish this much. They thought that some bullies might cause trouble and obstruct their business. However, surprisingly, it was not the case. In fact, those potentially causing trouble were chased away by them. They only came to know about this after it happened once.

They tried asking why they did this, but they didn’t say anything. So Nangong Shulan stopped asking further. Instead, she started giving them more food as a token of her appreciation whenever they came to eat at her store. Now, they had become regular customers at her restaurant, and she and her husband had become quite familiar with them. They learned that these people also had stories of hardship.

She and her husband were considering offering them jobs to serve customers and wash dishes, reasoning it was better than being thugs.

However, Qin Lei suggested they should still observe and understand them better before making a final decision, so as not to invite any troubles unknowingly.

“Phew, finally done. So tiring!” Nangong Shulan sighed in relief after the last customer left. She had been busy since the morning and hadn’t had a moment of rest or even a sip of water.

Running your own business is really exhausting. No wonder her elder daughter had said food business could be profitable but it’s hard labor. They had earned a few hundred dollars within a week. However, they had to wake up at 3 a.m. every day to prepare the ingredients, then push the cart to the street to start their stall. They kept working till around 1:30 p.m. Some customers even asked why they didn’t open the shop in the afternoon or evening, asserting that they could get a lot of customers during that time as well.
