The food at the Li’s is quite lavish, which left Qin Xue a little dumbfounded, she felt like a VIP.

“You’ve gone to a lot of trouble, Mrs. Li.” Qin Xue was somewhat embarrassed; they had prepared all this food and she hadn’t helped at all.

“It’s no trouble, come on, eat more, you look too slim. Is it because Molin doesn’t feed you?” Chen Lei joked, seeing how slim Qin Xue was.

“No, no, I always eat a lot, but somehow I just can’t put on weight.” Actually it wasn’t that Qin Xue wasn’t putting on weight, she just wouldn’t let herself. She didn’t want to be fat so after every meal she worked out and drank spiritual spring water to avoid gaining weight due to fear of metabolic syndrome.

Yet now, she couldn’t exactly tell Mrs. Li that she didn’t want to gain weight. It would be hurtful, after they’d gone to so much trouble to prepare such delicious food. All she could do was eat, then work it off later. After all, she wanted to enjoy the meal and exercise.

Qin Xue looked at Chu Molin apologetically; her slim figure had led to his being implicated, which made her want to laugh.

Chu Molin read the meaning in Qin Xue’s eyes and felt a bit helpless. What was his young wife trying to do?

Chu Molin’s hand lightly tapped Qin Xue’s thigh under the table, as a hint to keep quiet or there could be an embarrassment.

Qin Xue caught the hand on her thigh, with her eyes squinting from laughter, Chu Molin saw her as a languid little kitty. He had an itch to stroke her head but knew it was inappropriate so he refrained.

Chu Yi noticed his big brother and sister-in-law’s actions but did not say anything. Instead, he felt moved. He’d never seen his brother like this, still maintaining his cold demeanor but with a tenderness in his eyes that was unmistakable. All he wanted was for his brother to be happy.

Qin Xue, his big sister-in-law, seemed to have a good temper. From then till now, she remained gentle and polite, surprising him that such women still existed. He believed she might be the last of her kind.

If Qin Xue knew Chu Yi’s thoughts, she would laugh at his naivety. He hadn’t seen her lose her temper; otherwise, he definitely wouldn’t think so highly of her. It’s true she was easygoing when she wasn’t upset, but once she was, even she didn’t know what she might do.

“Molin, have some vegetables too.” After giving Qin Xue some food, Chen Lei then took some vegetables for Chu Molin using the public chopsticks, and he naturally accepted.

There was nothing to do about it. He was a bit of a clean freak. He wasn’t bothered by dirt during training, but he felt uncomfortable if others used their chopsticks to place food on his plate, fortunately, Chen Lei used public chopsticks. Otherwise, Chu Molin wouldn’t know whether to take the vegetables or not.

As the Li’s were eating and making merry, on returning home, Zhao Xuezhi at the Chu’s, discovered two little guests.

“Yeting, what’s with these two kids?” Zhao Xuezhi asked her husband and father-in-law, looking at the kids they were holding.

“They’re Molin’s kids.” Chu Yeting looked at his wife and laughed.

“What did you say?” Zhao Xuezhi asked her husband incredulously.

“I said these are Molin’s kids.” Chu Yeting knew why she reacted that way, her life had not been easy.

“Let me hold them.” As soon as Zhao Xuezhi confirmed she hadn’t heard wrong, tears streamed down her face.

“Sure,” Chu Yeting agreed, directly placing the child in her arms.

“Baby, I’m your grandma. You look so much like your father!” Zhao Xuezhi looked at the child in her arms, her grandchild. Her son hadn’t come home for over ten years, and now he returned with two kids.
