“Adding sugar to it enhances the taste. Having sugar in it makes the texture crunchier. If you like pickles, you can peel some and soak them in as well. Just be aware that the pickles take longer to soak through and might feel spicy when eaten.” Qin Xue loved sour pickles as well as sweet ones, but was unsure if the locals share her taste, so she didn’t make them.

After all, it’s hard to cater to everyone’s tastes. She would rather stick to making dishes that appeal universally. Even though she could earn more, it was too tiring. And to be honest, she was just a lazy person.
