Chapter 363: Chapter 365: Chaos and the Eye of Death (5400 words) Chapter 363: Chapter 365: Chaos and the Eye of Death (5400 words) “A city’s development cannot be separated from the following elements: a safe development environment, ample resources, enough population, and…”

“Population–Anos City now has the active group of Lost Plane adventurers. Their ability to create wealth and consume is unmatched by the majority of ordinary people…”

“The external development environment may pose certain risks, but with Centaurs and Fishmen as allies, Anos City only needs to defend against threats from within humanity…”

“Anos City is not lacking in resources. The Dwarf Hills have ores, the Fishman Tribe has the Magic Materials we need–it’s all about utilization…”

“Additionally, the city’s development requires…”

“…”

The 17 or 18-year-old Prince Anos was too young, and although he had a fierce determination, his lack of experience did not satisfy Lide, who unusually took it upon himself to give a lesson.

He thoroughly analyzed the current state of Anos City and the direction of its future development, explaining the role that players would play in it and how the policies of Anos City would likely revolve around certain core points in the future.

“Anos, I’ve told you so much because I want you to know that the future Anos City is the starting point for your revenge as Prince Anos.

Those filthy, despicable, contemptible Nobles of the Royal Capital will eventually kneel before you, awaiting the commands of the future King of Nolan.

Seize this opportunity. Stanley will support you wholeheartedly. If you disappoint me, you will never have another chance to control Anos City, and no one will care about your vendetta…”

Lide’s gaze was dark, like the depths of an unfathomable abyss.

Anos himself was not important, but his identity as a prince was, which is why Lide would continue to intensively cultivate him.

Of course, if after some time no results were seen, Lide would not hesitate to replace him, special identity or not.

“Anos, your destiny is always in your own hands…”

“For the dawn!”

Upon hearing these words Anos seemed to flip a switch; he stood up straight, his spine as rigid as a Knight’s steel lance, and his tone as solemn as a vow, right hand on his chest.

Resounding with strength.

“For the dawn!”

…

After assigning his tasks, Lide did not stay long and left Anos City immediately.

From the moment he entered this emerging city to his departure, he hadn’t even spent more than three Sunshine Hours.

As for Laurent, the president of the Golden Wheat Commerce who had come with him, he stayed in Anos City to coordinate with Prince Anos concerning the location of a subtower for the Crimson Mage Tower.

At present, the subtower was still in the planning stage and would need some time to start operating. It was most likely to begin after the Frost Month had passed, during the Planting Season.

In addition, Grot, a Level 17 Child of the North, was informed by Lide of some information and then sent to protect the safety of Prince Anos.

Currently, Anos City did not fear external threats, but dreaded the possibility of a covert assassination attempt by the black hands from the Nolan Capital.

After all, there were too many in this nation who wanted Prince Anos dead, including the King himself…

Whoosh whoosh~
Castro’s Blade Wings stirred up snowflakes in the sky.

Flying in the Frost Month amidst the wind and snow was undoubtedly an exquisite experience; the cold, piercing wind with snow slashing at one’s face was more painful than knives, but luckily a Mage’s methods were always diverse.

A thick Magic Shield repelled the assault of the bitter wind, and even with a woven robe emitting warmth, it made him feel quite cozy.

Equipment of the Extraordinary Level often had functions to withstand extreme cold or heat.

“Castro, head straight for the Dwarf Hills; we’re off to visit the Iron Hoof Tribe…”

Lide’s voice carried through the howling wind to Castro’s ears.

“As you command, Master…”

With wings of steel flapping, Castro, looking like a prehistoric giant beast, rampaged through the snowy landscape, his forbidding armor cutting through the ice and snow.

Red Moon Territory was approximately 700 to 800 kilometers from Risier City, which was conveniently on the way to the Iron Hoof Tribe.

As Lide approached within dozens of kilometers from Risier City, he suddenly changed his mind.

He directed Castro to change course, heading straight for the city occupied by Beastmen.

Perhaps during the snow, it would be possible to glean some information…

Due to the arrival of the Frost Month, most outdoor adventures had come to a halt, but Risier City was still being infiltrated by human adventurers and mercenaries, and among them were the absurd players crying out for a divine conquest.

Although the native inhabitants and players were ferocious during this time, none had organized a force strong enough, nor did they have unified command,
which meant that Risier City remained as stable as a mountain, and to this day, no one has been able to investigate the current situation of the Divine ruins.

This stalemate continued.

The reason for such a situation was first, because the Beastmen were strong; an army of hundreds of thousands could easily overshadow anyone who came close.

But the more important reason is that the natives didn’t really believe the news about the Divine relic, because the players were involved.

These fools boasted about it everywhere, making everyone aware of the news.

However, it was exactly because of the players that the credibility of the message drastically decreased.

How could the natives not know what kind of character the players had?

Those who regarded wealth as their life, would they be willing to share such information? And to make it known to everyone?

Therefore, the more it was discussed, the less credible it became, and the native bosses who actually had the power to destroy the Beastmen mostly ignored it.

Only some natives who preferred to err on the side of caution sent a few spies to gather information.

Lacking in strength, the players knew the truth but couldn’t gain the trust of others, while the powerful natives didn’t believe the players…

All these reasons combined created the bizarre situation where the Beastmen had exposed the secret they desperately tried to hide, yet remained safe and sound.

Although the terrain was flat and the wind and snow were severe, Lide could still faintly see the magnificent city in the distance.

When he was about twenty kilometers from Risier City, he specifically asked Castro to stop.

“Castro, wait for me here.”

“As you command, Master…”

Bringing Castro would significantly lower the ability to hide their presence, so Lide decided to proceed alone.

As he finished speaking, he directly released the Bloodline shackles and activated the hidden Ancestor Bloodline.

The overwhelming aura spread unrestrainedly in the air, like a landslide, like a tsunami; even the wind and snow in the air seemed to pause for a moment.

Lide’s gaze was sharp as a razor blade, he took a step and disappeared into the spatial rift.

Swoosh~
Everything around seemed to be veiled in a blur, dim and overcast.

Behind him, bat wings flapped, and he released a High-level Floating Skill on himself, rushing toward Risier City at high speed.

His dark eyes were full of alertness, and he didn’t let his guard down just because he was in the Dimension Plane.

Fifteen kilometers, ten kilometers… The closer he got to Risier City, the more solemn Lide’s expression became, as he felt he was slowly approaching the gaping maw of an Abyss Demon.

Darkness and terror.

His hairs began to stand on end, every cell in his body warning him of the danger ahead–extreme and lethal.

Eight kilometers, five kilometers…

As he moved closer to Risier City, his flying speed slowed, his heart pounding like a pump, thumping and throbbing, sending powerful energy coursing through his veins with each beat.

It seemed as though the city lurking in the ice and snow was like a Chaos Giant Beast that could tear through planes, with terror right in front of him.

With each step closer to Risier City, he felt the danger increasing, as if the Death God’s scythe could harvest his soul at any moment.

Closer and closer, until beads of sweat appeared on Lide’s forehead.

A pressure from the depths of his soul came from directly ahead, and at this moment, he was like a knight who had just learned to wield a sword, challenging a fully-grown giant dragon.

An unstoppable force.

But Lide didn’t retreat, the more so, the more it spurred his ferocity; advancing, always advancing through the hazy surroundings.

Until he was a kilometer away from Risier City’s walls, exactly 1000 blades distance, Lide’s form suddenly halted.

His pupils shrank instantly.

In the Dimension Plane, he saw before him a shield glowing a faint green, enveloping the entire Risier City like a bubble.

A miracle to behold.

If one didn’t get close, they couldn’t possibly discover the shield.

Although subtle, the shield’s trace was there, and there was no way to get around it.

This deepened the frown on Lide’s brow.

After pondering for a moment, he stepped forward, leaning closer to the faint green shield with his eyes.

Although the luster of the shield was pale, it was constantly flowing, and it exuded an extremely familiar aura, as if he had encountered it somewhere before.

His frown tightened.

Shortly after, Lide slapped his forehead, as realization dawned on him, “No wonder it felt so familiar…”
His right hand extended, and then a faint Power of Holy Light began to emanate.

At that moment, the pale green Shield rippled slightly, contracting inward as if an elastic was pressed in, yet it did not fracture.

“The Power of Faith… This Shield is actually constructed from the Power of Faith, although the opponent’s Power of Faith is very weak and mixed with a large amount of Magic Energy…”

Seeing this, Lide’s eyes shone, and he did not withdraw his hand; instead, he increased the output of the Power of Faith and formed a bubble that collided with the Shield.

Pop~
Unexpectedly, the collision of the two energies did not result in an explosion; instead, Lide’s Power of Faith went directly into the Shield. The Shield then looked as if it had been patched with a differently colored fabric, with the Power of Faith occupying a section of it.

The pure white Holy Light Power created a stark contrast with the pale green Shield.

Moved by this sight, Lide continued to increase the output of the Power of Faith, expanding that region to a size that could accommodate a person’s passage.

He then observed his surroundings for a moment, ensuring there were no enemies and then stepped directly into the pale green Shield through the area covered by the Power of Faith without touching the Shield.

But just as Lide stepped into the Shield, he suddenly felt a chill down his spine, and an indescribable, terrifying pressure rose in front of him.

Within the Dimensional Plane, a massive Void Eye opened above Risier City, suspended in mid-air.

The immense eye was indescribably eerie and frightening, like the sky had shattered and the remnants of a world’s destruction, or the Eye of Death of an Ancient Evil God.

Desolate, hollow, destructive, violent, murderous, bloody–all the negative descriptors applicable to this Void Eye would not be an exaggeration.

This Extreme Evil entity did not belong to the Main Plane; it was something only seen in the abyssal depths and Bloody Hell.

Fear spread.

Lide even felt as though his soul was freezing at that moment.

Divine!

Truly, some Divine beings have not perished…

Just then, an even more spine-chilling scene occurred as the Void Eye floating in the void, clearly visible in the Dimension Plane, suddenly turned towards him.

That odd, terrifying eye seemed to span eons, persisting from the ancient past to the present.

An eye of Chaos and Death.

“Influenza and Death were then, Influenza and Death are now, Influenza and Death will also be forever…”

A voice that sounded like millions kneeling in prayer, mingled with the Extreme Evil speech emanating from non-human organs, resonated by Lide’s ears.

“He is Eternal, He is the Past, He exists in the Past, and He exists now, He is the ruler of Plague and Death, He is the spreader of Disease and Destruction…”

Under the gaze of that only eye, beads of sweat on Lide’s forehead fell like water, while hundreds, thousands, tens of thousands seemed to repeat the soul-devouring Extreme Evil speech in his ears.

“He is Eternal, and He is the Only One, He shall not die, He shall live forever, He shall also be reborn…”

At the last strange syllable’s fall, Lide’s soul felt as if it was being pulled by an ineffable force, almost directly ripped from his body and flying towards the eye of Chaos and Death.

No!!

Death was approaching…
Lide’s soul was alerting him at that moment. He suddenly bit the tip of his tongue, the blood poured out.

The intense pain brought him some clarity. He ferociously activated the Power of Faith, and the pressure that could crush a soul was slaughtered by the wild assault of the Power of Faith.

A few breaths later, he regained control over his body.

By then, his back was completely drenched with sweat.

Shrouded in the Power of Faith, Lide clenched his teeth, fiercely raising his head to lock eyes with the Chaos and Death Eye filled with all evils and horrors of the world.

His body radiated brightly with the Power of Faith, his gaze as resolute as steel. He would not allow his mind and soul to be shaken again, not by anyone, even if they were gods… Even if they were in a realm far beyond his reach!

They gazed directly at each other.

His soul was battered yet again, but he kept his teeth clenched and eyes focused.

A stubbornness within him would not admit defeat, even as his eyes began to bleed.

It was only when the bizarre eye could no longer affect him that Lide gathered back the Power of Faith radiating from his body.

That entity could not leave Risier City.

This realization made him take one deep final look at the eye of Chaos and Death floating in the Dimensional Plane, overlooking all of Risier City.

Without wasting another word, he turned and left directly from the entrance he had used.

Once he had stepped through the pale green Shield, the pressure that had threatened his soul and the Extreme Evil Eye filled with Chaos and Death faded.

When Lide looked again towards Risier City, it was still the quiet figure wrapped in wind and snow, as if everything that had just happened was unreal.

His spine still sent chills down his back.

He didn’t stay any longer, cloaked his body in the Power of Faith, and then flew from the place at great speed until he found Castro waiting for him. Without a moment’s hesitation, he had the 15th-level fledgling king transport him away from the city as quickly as possible.

After flying out over a hundred kilometers, Lide’s expression remained grave.

It was too horrifying, the presence that nearly yanked his soul out of his body gave him a direct sense of the Divine’s might.

That was a force he could not currently contend with.

Even a Transcendent under such pressure could only be slaughtered like a lamb, and it was uncertain whether they could even escape alive.

Had it not been for his Power of Faith protecting him, he would have definitely been soaking in a blood pool for over half a year by now.

Fortunately, the other party was still trapped and unable to leave Risier City…

“Really, it was a living Divine that hadn’t died. The Beastmen’s schemes are too grand, aren’t they afraid of biting off more than they can chew…”

From beneath one city, they had excavated an Evil God that was still alive.

These Beastmen were certainly trying to provoke the heavens.

Lide’s expression grew even graver.

This matter had now gone beyond his control, and it was evolving in a direction that was increasingly difficult to fathom.

Originally, he thought the Divines in the relics were either dead or sealed, unable to move.

But now it seemed completely otherwise, more like the Beastmen were the ones unsealing them, allowing the Evil God to slowly revive.

“Why would the Beastmen do such a brazen and reckless thing? That presence is definitely an Ancient Evil God that has been laid to rest long ago.

Once it breaks free, not to mention an army of several hundred thousand Beastmen, even if there were three to five times as many, it would be futile.

That is a living god…”

“Could it be these Beastmen intend to strike a deal with the Evil God? They shouldn’t be that foolish…

Or could it be that they actually worship this Evil God? That shouldn’t be either, the Beast God is still a living Divine. Ignoring their own race’s Main God and choosing to follow an Evil God… it doesn’t make any sense…”

The more Lide thought about it, the murkier things seemed.

“And then there are the upper-class Nobles of Green City and that Extraordinary Mage–Locke. These people have turned a blind eye to the Beastmen for more than a year, nearly two years.

And they acted as if they were deaf to the news of the Divine relics…”

“What exactly are they scheming?”

Originally Lide thought he had dispelled the fog; the Beastmen had seized Risier City to lay claim to the Divine relics, but that Chaos and Eye of Death above the city had shattered his hypothesis.

The situation that had once been clear was now muddled once more.

The Divine… was not dead…

Lide suddenly remembered that level 17 Elf.

“Perhaps she really knows something?…”

“Should I go, or should I not?”

After a moment, Lide shook his head to free himself from the oppressive presence just now, his thoughts slowly returning to clarity.

“The power of that Eye seems still to be in a weaker state; the Beastmen have not yet completed the unsealing process, so I can wait for a while.”

“Moreover, that Elf may not be an easy opponent to deal with–a High-level Elf who has attracted human attention somehow traveled the vast distance from the Ancient Forest in the center of the Main Plane to the Nolan Empire. What is her purpose?

The power behind her must also be anything but simple.”

“As a member of the Bloodline, dealing with her may turn out to be a perilous bargain, and in the end, it’s truly uncertain whether she’ll be a friend or foe.”

“Let’s put this matter aside for now, the worst outcome is simply for me not to interfere with the things here. If the sky falls, there are still the Extraordinary Mages of Green City to hold it up. I cannot believe that they are completely unaware of all this…”

After giving it some thought, Lide decided to continue his journey to the Iron Hoof Tribe. Although the recent incident had nearly ended disastrously, it wasn’t a complete loss.

It had clarified the situation in Risier City for him and allowed him to adjust his key plans regarding the Divine relics.

This information was exceedingly important; had he not become aware of it, and if he had relied on his previous plans, the losses could have been more than he was willing to accept.

“I still need to keep developing…”

“My power is not yet sufficient to delve into such a terrifying existence…”

“A living Evil God…”

“All of this… is too mysterious…”
