Chapter 476: Chapter 362: Mora “Giving Up” on Inheriting the Family Fortune_2

“Although there’s the influence of Marquis Kane, you have indeed done very well,”

“So, Father, do you think I am more suitable to inherit the Golden Vine Flower Commerce than my older brother?”

Mora unconsciously smiled at the corners of his mouth, somewhat embarrassed as he spoke.

“Indeed, that is the case. Although I’ve had this idea, I had planned to consider it for some more time,”

Vim leaned back on the sofa, a faint smile on his face.

The tremendous improvement of his once self-destructive youngest son had indeed put him in a good mood.

“I had thought about finding a good time to talk to you, to hand over some matters of the Golden Vine Flower Commerce to you, but then I heard that Marquis Kane has returned.”

“Marquis Kane is indeed impressive, set to be given the title of Duke at such a young age, worthy of being a disciple of the ‘Judgement Flame.’”

“The future Duke Kane will surely have his own territory, and it’s highly likely that the White Dove Chamber of Commerce will shift its focus there, and then you’ll certainly be leaving Bright City…”

Mora had been happily listening to his father’s words but suddenly froze at this point.

In the past six months, Mora’s networking within the upper circles of Bright City had not been a waste of time; he quickly grasped the hidden meaning behind Vim’s words.

“Father, do you mean to say that you want me to leave the White Dove Chamber of Commerce and inherit the Golden Vine Flower Commerce?”

“That’s right.”

Vim nodded slightly, straightforward in his response. If he hadn’t had this in mind, he wouldn’t have laid his cards on the table so directly with his youngest son but would have chosen to continue testing Mora.

But all of this had been disrupted by Lis’s sudden rise, which also led Vim to other thoughts.

“This…”

Mora hadn’t expected to suddenly face this situation; truth be told, he naturally wanted to take over the family business and become the chairman of the Golden Vine Flower Commerce.

That was something he had jokingly said to Lis once.

And Mora was also aware that if he truly chose to leave the White Dove Chamber of Commerce, Lis and Bernie would definitely support his decision.

But…

After only a brief hesitation, Mora said seriously to his father, who was sitting across from him:

“I’m sorry, Father, to disappoint you.”

“I don’t want to leave the White Dove Chamber of Commerce!”

Mora knew very well that if it weren’t for his good brother Lis’s help and the establishment of the White Dove Chamber of Commerce, he wouldn’t have been able to pick himself up again.

Moreover, just a few days ago, Lis had specifically come to him, wanting to entrust the renovation and rebuilding of his Duke Territory to the White Dove Chamber of Commerce and to him.

This profound trust left Mora with no other thoughts.

The White Dove Chamber of Commerce was also the place where Mora had invested all his efforts; even with the tempting prospect of taking charge of the Golden Vine Flower Commerce, one of the top five in the Feis Kingdom, Mora wasn’t too concerned.

Perhaps to him, the thought of inheriting the Golden Vine Flower Commerce was more about gaining his father’s approval.

After a frank conversation between father and son, Mora suddenly realized that inheriting the Carl family and the Golden Vine Flower Commerce wasn’t all that tempting to him.

Seeing his youngest son reject his proposal, Vim’s expression held a trace of surprise, but he quickly accepted it.

“I’m not surprised by the choice you’ve made; indeed, following Lis Kain does promise a good future.”

In Vim’s eyes, although managing the White Dove Chamber of Commerce with Lis wouldn’t compare to the position of chairman of the Golden Vine Flower Commerce in the short term, that may not be the case in the long run.

If Lis were to truly break through and become the new Legendary Strongman of the Feis Kingdom, that would be a world of difference.

Upon hearing this, Mora frowned slightly, as his father’s words seemed to suggest that he chose to follow Lis for a better future; however, not wanting to disrupt the current harmonious atmosphere between father and son, he held back his rebuttal.

That’s because of the trust my brother has in me!

Noticing the slightly unconvinced look on Mora’s face, Vim’s mouth curved into a hint of a smile.

He nodded and continued to speak to his youngest son:

“Since you’ve made your choice, I won’t say much more.”

“When you go to his territory with Lis, don’t forget that you still have the Carl family and the Golden Vine Flower Commerce in Bright City.”

“Of course, I…”

Mora waved his hand nonchalantly, only to suddenly pause mid-sentence.

Then he asked, somewhat uncertainly:

“Father, are you saying that the Carl family and the Golden Vine Flower Commerce are still to be inherited by me?”

In Mora’s mind, since he had chosen to follow Lis and had refused his father’s offer, it meant opting out of the Carl family, establishing a new branch.

The Carl family and the Golden Vine Flower Commerce would naturally be inherited by his older brother Jon, and they would no longer have anything to do with him.

But unexpectedly, from his father’s words, it seemed that even if he left Bright City with Lis, he would still inherit the Carl family and the Golden Vine Flower Commerce.

This was somewhat unexpected to Mora.

“The foundation of the family naturally goes to the most outstanding children; it’s all for the future of the family,”

Vim simply put his reason for making such a decision.

As a holder of a portion of the Golden Vine Flower Commerce’s shares and other assets, the Carl family was a not insignificant force in the Royal Capital, Bright City. Yet in the face of Lis Kain, the rising star of the Kingdom, they held little weight.

Not even twenty, Lis had already advanced to Gold, fully proving his potential.

Besides, his mentor was the peak legend ‘Judgement Flame,’ and he seemed to have a very close relationship with King Morton of the Feis Kingdom.
