Inside a private lounge of Dusk.

“What did Connor say? Will he lend us the money?” Lily asked anxiously after May had finished calling Connor.

“Yep, he said yes.” May nodded gently. Her conversation with Connor was still echoing in her mind.

May had never expected that she would end up having to ask an incel like Connor for help.

And, Connor would lend her money on the condition that she would spend a night with him. It was hard for May to accept that she had to sleep with Connor. But, if she could not come up with $100,000, her fate could be much more terrifying as a goon like the blond guy could do anything. So, May could only agree to Connor’s request. 

“I didn’t know that he still had some conscience and was willing to lend us money.” Lily was relieved, feeling less worried after hearing that Connor was willing to help them.

May furrowed her brows and turned to look at Lily snappishly. “I am lending you this money. You will have to repay me when you have money in the future.”

“Why? Isn’t Connor the one who lent us both this money?” Lily was not too happy.

If Connor lent her this money, she could act cute in front of him, finding favor with him, and he might waive her debt. She thought she was good at dealing with an incel like Connor.

“Who do you think you are? You think Connor is stupid enough to lend us money just like that? He will lend us the money only on the condition that I sleep with him. I will forgo this money if you replace me and spend a night with him.” May was aggravated, gritting her teeth. 

Lily was stunned, mouth agape, and could not say a word. After a long while, she looked at May and said, “You’re crazy, May. How could you sleep with someone like Connor for fifty thousand dollars?”

“You have any better alternatives other than agreeing to Connor’s request? Isn’t sleeping with Connor better than with Todd?” May said with a sneer. 

Lily stood there dumbfounded, not knowing what to say. 

“Don’t tell anyone else about this. Or else, I promise I will kill you myself.” May looked at Lily with threatening eyes.

“I won’t tell anyone. Don’t worry,” Lily quickly said.

Todd was sitting on the sofa and becoming impatient. He slammed the table and scolded, “Have you borrowed the money yet, you two b*tches? You two will follow me now if there is no one coming for you.”

“My friend will be here in a while.” There was a hint of fear in May’s eyes when she heard what Todd said.

“Five more minutes. If your friend hasn’t arrived after five minutes, you know what is going to happen,” Todd said impatiently.

May cowered in the corner, nodding timidly and not daring to speak. 

Knock! Knock! Knock!

Just then, someone knocked on the door outside the private lounge.

“Come in!” Peter hollered toward the door.

Connor pushed the door open and walked straight in. A twinkle of emotion flashed in the eyes of May and Lily when they saw him.

“I am here for them,” Connor said expressionlessly after glancing at May and Lily. 

“Did you bring the money?” Peter asked in an icy voice. He sat in the middle of the couch and did not even look at Connor.

Connor put the food delivery bag he was carrying on the table and said, “Here are one-hundred-thousand dollars. Now, let them go.”

Todd quickly opened the food delivery bag and then walked over to Connor, scanning him with scorn, and grinned. “I didn’t expect that an incel like you could come up with one-hundred grand so quickly. You’re rich.”

“Whether I’m rich or not has nothing to do with you,” Connor said.

“What an arrogant kid.” Todd walked up to Connor and looked at him carefully. He was wide-eyed as if he suddenly remembered something. “No wonder you look familiar. You’re the food delivery guy near Porthampton University, right?”

“This is the kid, Todd. I have seen him several times at the university,” one of Todd’s underlings said.

“Haha, no wonder you look so familiar. How many takeaway trips did you have to make to earn one-hundred grand? Was it worth doing it just for these two b*tches?” Todd asked. His voice was filled with disdain. 

“Todd, I heard that his girlfriend just dumped him recently. He spent all the money he made as a delivery guy for three years on that girl, who ended up running away with a rich kid. The most dramatic thing was that he only found out that his girlfriend was cheating on him when he delivered food to a hotel and bumped into her and that rich kid. What a loser,” Todd’s underling next to him said.

“Haha, this boy is an exemplary incel. He still wants to play the hero when he can’t even feed himself. I almost died laughing.” Todd burst into laughter when he heard what his underling said.
