Huang Zhilei and Zhou Junpeng exchanged looks at the door: “This can’t go on, right? If she really pulls out the tubes, it’ll be a big deal, and she might have to go back into the OR.”

Zhou Junpeng turned to find a nurse, calling out, “Bring over some diazepam.”

Huang Zhilei pulled out his phone to report the latest developments to Senior Cao.

“Is she going to pull out the tubes?” Cao Yong frowned deeply.

“Not sure, she’s arguing with Yin Fengchun now. We might need to give her an injection to calm her down first. After that–” Huang Zhilei was at a loss, hoping only that Senior Cao had some solution.

While on the phone, Cao Yong reached out his hand.

When it comes to love, they’ve seen too many heart-wrenching stories clinically. Doctors tend to believe in the sentiment of ‘steady companionship equals finding a reliable marriage partner’ and are less convinced by passion.

This is because doctors are busy, so busy that being a doctor’s spouse means making way for them to save lives at the hospital. Just this point alone makes it difficult for outsiders to accept being the one at home often making selfless sacrifices.

Passion fades, and without mutual understanding, love can collapse at any moment. Marriage is a long-term commitment, not an impulsive emotion.

“Don’t listen to their gossip; I reckon a lot of them think the same as us,” said Huang Beibei, similarly not optimistic about the couple.
